Watford, United Kingdom — March 26, 2024 | Publisher Wired Productions are proud to share that visionary independent developer Tomas Sala’s Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles releases today on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One.

Once more, gamers have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the tumultuous realm of the Ursee. Marked by years of relentless conflict and scarred by the ravages of war, the world now hosts only a handful of factions struggling to survive amidst its rugged cliffs and tempestuous waters. With intuitive controls at their fingertips, players will wield the power to rebuild this shattered landscape, erecting towering fortresses in a domain uniquely their own.

In addition, Wired Productions and Tomas Sala are delighted to reveal that Bulwark: The Falconeer Chronicles is in fact, the second of what will be a trilogy of games in the Falconeer Chronicles franchise. Tomas is thrilled to share that he has started work on what will be the conclusion of the trilogy, with a working code name of Project Ancient Waves.

The third in this evolving trilogy, Ancient Waves will attempt to bring the perspective of the grand world, created over the first two releases, down to a human scale — the people who do the jobs that run a society and their stories. More information on the project will be revealed later this year.

As well as this, Tomas is delighted to reveal that he has a year's worth of support mapped out for Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles. In late April, Tomas Sala and Wired Productions will reveal this roadmap with a mix of free and paid content that will be released to extend the gameplay and story of Bulwark.

On the launch of Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles and the reveal of Project Ancient Waves, Tomas Sala said “Releasing this title is both the scariest and most exciting thing I've ever done. The Falconeer was a darkly wrought work wrought in a dark manner, but this is me at my most creative and unconstrained."

He continues, "It is my attempt to provide the joy of creation as I experience it. The sheer thrill of not knowing what you will create, of uncovering shape and form over time, rather than bending it to your will outright. "I realise I don't make frictionless experiences in a world full of companies seeking to reduce friction as an easier path to the gamers' wallets. But the positive response from players has been so overwhelming that my searching and exploration now feels like a shared journey, and I cannot wait to see what people uncover.”

Tomas concludes, “I like the idea of the smallest roles and actors in a grand set of events, the next game will be an attempt to take the perspective on this world down to a human scale. I think it would be great to show the three epochs of this world, how a society gets stuck and fixed in place and attempts to break free through violence and conflict (The Falconeer). How people rebuild and the kind of walls they build around them (Bulwark) and then the perspective on how a society can collapse as seen by the people experiencing the preludes to such an event."

Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is the sequel to the award-winning and BAFTA-nominated aerial combat game and Xbox Series X launch title The Falconeer and the second release in the trilogy of Falconeer Chronicles franchise. Set within the same universe and set 40 years in the aftermath – Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles switches from aerial combat to city-builder, set within a fantastical open world that acts as a canvas for players to unleash their creativity without limits.

Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles is out now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Steam, EGS, GoG, Utomik and the Xbox family of consoles, priced at £14.99/$19.99/€19.99. Players can find details of where to buy the game via: https://wiredproductions.com/games/bulwark-falconeer-chronicles/#where-to-buy.
